Consistent with the government of Zimbabwe’s devolution policy and indigenization campaign, Vavambi Development Trust in concert with Seke Rural District and the local council (Manyame Rural District Council) mobilizes funding and approval necessary to implement strategic community development projects and initiatives. The organization and its trustees bring substantial experience working in community development and project management. This includes integrating communities in project implementation, participatory approaches, monitoring and evaluation as well as grant administration and management. We have both national and locally based programs with a geographical focus on Seke Rural District. The programs will be designed and implemented in participation with the community. The community-based planning, review and monitoring system will be developed so that community inputs and contributions are included in the overall action strategy. This will enable the community to have a strong feeling of owning the action and its outcomes.
The cornerstone of our vision is the belief that there is latent potential in the community itself to promote growth, progress and development. Therefore, we seek to work as a patron to mobilize the community and to develop community-based mechanisms to harness this potential, leading to the social and economic development of humanity.
The organization works to mitigate poverty and inequality and to promote economic and social development in partnership with people and communities throughout Seke Rural District. We do this by sharing and developing skills and ideas, facilitating organizational and social change and building awareness of development issues.
